Sports Minister Confirms Black Stars’ $100,000 World Cup Appearance Fees Fully Paid

Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has confirmed that all outstanding appearance fees owed to the Black Stars for the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been fully settled.

Speaking on Sporty FM, the minister disclosed that every player has received the agreed $100,000 appearance fee, bringing clarity to one of the key financial matters surrounding Ghana’s World Cup campaign.

According to Adams, the only outstanding payment yet to be made relates to the team’s performance-based incentive for reaching the Round of 32.

“Black Stars’ $100,000 World Cup appearance fees are fully settled. What is left is the qualification bonus to the Round of 32,” Kofi Adams said on Sporty FM.

The Black Stars returned to the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup after progressing beyond the group phase for the first time since 2010, earning qualification to the newly introduced Round of 32 before eventually exiting the tournament.

Attention will now turn to the upcoming international assignments, including the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
