GFA Confirms Dates for 2026/27 GPL Super Clash
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially confirmed the dates for the two Super Clash fixtures between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The country’s biggest football rivalry will first take centre stage on Matchday 13, with Asante Kotoko hosting Hearts of Oak between December 4 and 7, 2026, in what promises to be another fiercely contested encounter.
The return fixture has been scheduled for Matchday 30, when Hearts of Oak will welcome their bitter rivals to Accra between April 30 and May 3, 2027.
As always, the Super Clash is expected to attract nationwide attention, with supporters eagerly awaiting another chapter in one of African football’s most iconic rivalries.
Beyond local bragging rights, both matches could prove decisive in shaping the destination of the Ghana Premier League title. With Kotoko and Hearts expected to be among the clubs challenging for honours, the outcomes of the two encounters may carry significant weight in the championship race.
The fixture announcement comes after the GFA unveiled the full schedule for the 2026/27 season, giving clubs and supporters an opportunity to map out key dates for the campaign.
Kotoko will enter the season under newly appointed South African coach Eric Tinkler, who has already stated his ambition of restoring the Porcupine Warriors to the summit of Ghanaian football.
Hearts of Oak, meanwhile, will also be aiming to re-establish themselves as genuine title contenders after recent campaigns that fell short of supporters’ expectations.
