The Ghana Football Association(GFA), in September 27, 2023 will hold elections for the GFA President, Ghana Premier League Representatives, Division one league Representatives and Women’s Representatives on the Executive Council.

As enshrined in the GFA’s regulations and status revised in 2019, ought to hold elections every four-years.

In a significant move to uphold the integrity of Ghanaian football, the General Secretary of the Association Prosper Harrison Addo, says the forthcoming GFA elections will stand as a testament to transparency and fairness.

Promising unbiased transparency and avoid any hitches that will hinder the process.

Many are of the view, that any foul means in the course of the election will be triggered since, the GFA Presidential race will feature a duel between the incumbent Kurt Okraku and the formidable contender, George Afriyie, a former Vice President of the association.

“This roadmap that you see out there, FIFA is okay with it.”

“So, we are very compliant and will follow the timetable to ensure that everything is fair”, Harrison Addo told Citi Sports.

I don’t think anything will be done to hinder any of the processes.”

As stated in the roadmap to the elections, the vetting process will commence from Monday, August 21st to Friday, August 25th, leading up to the Elective Congress scheduled for Wednesday, September 27th.

Eleven football administrators, have filed nominations to contest for the five available slots on the Executive Council Committee for Ghana Premier League thus, Kingsley Osei Bonsu, Nana Sarfo Oduro, Frederick Acheampong, Dr. Tony Aubynn, Dr. Randy Abbey, Onyina Asenso, Edmund Ackah, Kwesi Appiah, Elloeny Amande, Raphael Gyambrah, and Alhaji Moro Akambi.

Within the Division One League Clubs Exco positions, GFA Vice President Mark Addo, Samuel Anim Addo, Eugene Nii Amon, Gideon Fosu, and Alexander Ababio vie for the available three positions.

Meanwhile, Gifty Oware-Mensah, the Bankroller of Berry Ladies, stands unopposed for the Women’s Football Clubs Exco slot.

The Regional football association Chairmen positions will be contested by nineteen other administrators.
