Upper East club owners chant for Salifu Zida to be retained as RFA chairman

Astute Ghanaian Football administrator, Alhaji Salifu Shaibu Zida has filed his nomination to run for elections as Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA) chairman, again.

Having managed the Region’s Football for more than a decade, has received endorsement over 95 per cent of the club owners and administrators in the Region to run for another term. The President and bankroller of Bolga All Stars SC, a former Ghana Premier League team has taken the first step to seeking for re-election after filling his nomination at the Ghana Football Association Secretariat last two weeks.

Salifu Zida’s vision for football in the region is remarkable, and many believe that he is the right man to maintain as Upper East RFA Chairman.

Many football enthusiasts in the Upper East region are excited about Zida’s performance in the Region and Ghana as a whole. He huge influence in Ghana Football, has seen the Upper East Region now boasting of a standard FIFA astro turf project full of floodlight and dressing rooms, with other sporting facilities.

Meanwhile, Bawku West District Football Association (DFA) chairman Abel Asoogo who has failed to hold meetings with clubs under his District nor hold District Congress has picked nomination to contest one of the most experienced Executive Council members of the GFA, currently.

Asoogo who doesn’t have an office for the DFA, after four years is ridiculously hoping to match Zida.

The upcoming elections promise to be exciting, and many are eager to see what happens after Asoogo’s defeat.

As the election draws closer, many are eager to see the defeat of Asoogo who doesn’t know anything about football yet wants to lead the Upper East Football Association.

The Upper East needs a competent person like Zida to lead the Regional Football Association not incompetent person like Abel.

The Regional Football Association elections is scheduled for Friday, October 6 2023.
