Olympique Lyon announce Ernest Nuamah as new signing

French Ligue I club, Olympique Lyon have officially announced the signing of Ghana forward Ernest Nuamah.

The 19-year-old joins Lyon from Danish top-flight club FC Nordsjaelland on a transfer fee of €30million. Despite, completing his medical test last week Thursday the club delayed in confirming his signing until Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

He joins on loan with obligation to sign permanent contract of four-years after the season.

Nuamah will wear the jersey number 37, which has been worn by only Africans – Thomas Fontaine (Madagascar) and Demba Toure (Senegal.

The 19-year-old Ghanaian attacker becomes the latest to use the 37 – a number he also used at Nordsjaelland.

He becomes the 5th Ghanaian player to join Lyon after Abedi Ayew Pele, Michael Essien, John Mensah and Elisha Owusu.
