The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially released the calendar for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, with the new campaign scheduled to begin on the weekend of September 12, 2025, and conclude on the weekend of May 23/24, 2026.

The announced dates have been strategically aligned with the 23rd FIFA World Cup, which will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, to ensure that all elite domestic competitions are completed ahead of the global football festival.

Ahead of the league kickoff, GFA Congress is expected to convene on August 12, 2025, to finalize administrative and regulatory matters for the upcoming season.

Dates for the various matchdays

As part of the structured calendar, Premier League matches will primarily be held on weekends, with midweek slots reserved for any outstanding games—continuing the matchday structure used in the 2024/25 season.

The GFA reaffirmed its commitment to the efficient execution of the league schedule, emphasizing the importance of a vibrant and well-coordinated football season across all levels of competition in the country.

The 2025/26 season promises to be another exciting chapter in Ghanaian football, as reigning champions Bibiani Gold Stars SC aim to defend their title. Additionally, newly promoted sides Techiman Eleven Wonders FC, Swedru All Blacks United FC, and Hohoe United FC will join the top flight after earning promotion from the Access Bank Division One League.
