Ghanaian defender Osman Salifu has joined Ghanaian league champions Medeama SC on a long-term contract, Nkrataasem.com can exclusively confirm.
The young talented center-back has completed a sensational move to the Mauves and Yellow outfit ahead of the upcoming 2023-24 league season. He signed a three-year contract from fast-growing Ghanaian lower-tier club Mahala Football Academy.
Osman whose command and ability to read the game is compared to Chelsea’s Thiago Silva is already training with the team and is expected to strengthen their defence line. He joins the side as replacement of Ibrahim Yaro, who left the side few weeks ago.
The tall defender was an integral member of Mahala Football Academy side that cruise to the final of the 2022-23 Ashanti Regional Division Two Middle league. Many contribute Mahala Football Academy defeat to PAC Academy in their final game to the absence of Osman Salifu who suffered a red card in the early hours of the second half.
Osman aside good composure on the ball, he is a ball playing center-back and excellent with aerial duels.
He contributed to four goals last season for Mahala Football Academy, scoring twice and assisting two in 18 league appearance. Won two Man-Of-The-Match awards as well.
He joins Medeama SC with good profile, hoping to utilise his abilities when the new campaign starts.
