Berekum Chelsea forward Emmanuel Sarpong has expressed strong optimism ahead of his side’s highly anticipated Ghana FA Cup semifinal showdown against Asante Kotoko on Sunday, April 21, 2025, at the TNA Stadium.

The experienced forward believes the Bibires are fully equipped and motivated to overcome the Porcupine Warriors and secure a place in the final — a step closer to a coveted continental slot.

Speaking to Ghanasportspage, Sarpong emphasized the team’s readiness across all fronts and hinted at the club’s commitment to playing in Africa if they succeed.

“Our leaders are ready to sponsor us for Africa, so motivation-wise we are ready,” the 27-year-old stated confidently.

“Sunday’s game is a must-win for Berekum Chelsea. We are well prepared, physically, spiritually, mentally and everything, and we are ready to deliver on Sunday.”

Sarpong further revealed the influential role of head coach Samuel Boadu and the club’s hierarchy in bolstering the team’s belief and drive.

“Yes, we are ready and focused on beating Asante Kotoko because our coach Samuel Boadu has told us we can also do it. Our management, led by Obed Nana Kwame Nketia, has assured us that they’re ready to sponsor us in Africa, so we should do our best to beat Kotoko — and we will beat them,” he added.

Sarpong has featured in 25 games for Berekum Chelsea across all competitions this season, scoring four goals and playing a key role in their cup run.

A win on Sunday would see the Bibires reach the FA Cup final and bring them a step closer to representing Ghana in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
