Ghanaian forward Daniel Afriyie will continue his journey with Swiss side FC Aarau after the club confirmed the extension of his contract until June 30, 2028.

The 24-year-old striker initially joined Aarau from FC Zürich last summer on a two-year deal. However, his impressive performances have prompted the club to activate an option clause in the agreement ahead of schedule.

Afriyie made an immediate impression upon arrival, scoring on his debut and quickly becoming an important figure in the team’s attacking setup. His influence has continued throughout the campaign, where he has already contributed eight goals and five assists.

Those contributions have helped push Aarau into second place in the Swiss Challenge League standings, strengthening their push for promotion to the top tier of Swiss football.

Confirming the extension, the club expressed delight at securing the Ghanaian’s services for the long term.

“We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Daniel Afriyie and thank him for his loyalty,” the club announced.

Afriyie’s progress in Switzerland reflects the promise he displayed earlier in his career with Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League, where his performances first attracted attention from European clubs.

With the new contract now in place, Aarau have ensured that one of their most productive players remains a central part of their plans as they chase promotion and future success.
