Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has clarified ongoing speculation surrounding the remuneration of Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz, stating that widely circulated figures do not reflect the true terms of the agreement.

Addressing the issue on Asempa FM, Adams dismissed claims that the Portuguese tactician is earning up to $100,000 monthly, indicating that the actual amount falls below that figure.

“Carlos Queiroz is being paid less than $100,000; his salary is not up to the $100,000 being quoted out there. The actual salary and details will be revealed later before the World Cup. He was signed on a four-month contract,” he said.

Queiroz was appointed to lead Ghana on a short-term basis ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, replacing Otto Addo following a series of underwhelming results.

The Minister’s comments come amid heightened public interest in the financial commitments tied to the national team, particularly as the country intensifies preparations for the global tournament.

While full contractual details remain undisclosed, the government has signaled its intention to make the information public before the start of the World Cup, reinforcing calls for transparency in the management of Ghana football.

With expectations rising, Queiroz is expected to focus on assembling a competitive squad capable of delivering a strong performance on the world stage.
