Ghana continued their impressive run in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, securing a dominant 3-0 win over Madagascar at Le Grand Stade d’Al Hoceima in Morocco on Monday evening.

The victory cements the Black Stars’ place at the top of Group I with 15 points, marking their fourth consecutive win in the campaign.

Head coach Otto Addo made two changes to the squad that dismantled Chad 5-0 in their previous fixture, bringing in Jerome Opoku and Abu Francis while sticking to a 3-5-2 formation.

The Black Stars wasted no time asserting their dominance and were rewarded just 11 minutes in when Thomas Partey rose highest to nod in Jordan Ayew’s pinpoint free-kick, leaving Madagascar’s goalkeeper Geordan Dupire with no chance.

Ghana nearly doubled their lead shortly after, but Mohammed Kudus was denied from close range by an excellent save from Dupire.

Nine minutes after the restart, Partey struck again, heading home another precise delivery from Ayew’s corner kick to extend Ghana’s advantage.

With Madagascar unable to mount a response, the Black Stars continued to push forward, and their persistence paid off when Kudus added a third goal, finishing calmly after being played through by captain Jordan Ayew.

The comprehensive win further solidifies Ghana’s position at the top of Group I, bringing them closer to securing a ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
