Black Stars: Players withdrew because they know Ghana won’t qualify-Kuuku Dadzie
Former Black Stars captain, James Kuuku Dadzie has opined that the eight players who withdrew from the Black Stars team intentionally did that because of Ghana’s slim chance to qualify.
The Black Stars are currently third in Group F of the AFCON qualifiers with just 2 points after four games and are on the verge of not qualifying if they don’t win even one of the games remaining.
Kuuku Dadzie believes that it will be difficult for Ghana to qualify and that may be the reason for the players not showing up.
“Our performance has been very poor in this qualifiers. It will be very difficult for the Black Stars to qualify. I believe it is the reason the eight players intentionally withdrew from the squad because they know it is unlikely that we wont qualify.” He told Asempa FM.
However, the former AFCON winner for Ghana believes football is unpredictable so the Black Stars can qualify.
“Football is a game of uncertainties. The players we called to replace those who withdrew maybe are those who can perform well and qualify us. We are only hoping that Sudan loses.” He added.
Ghana will clash with the Palancas Negras of Angola on Friday, November 15 in a penultimate tie of the qualifiers, before concluding their campaign against Niger in Accra on November 18.
