“Asante brings both quality and versatility to our squad”- Prosper Ogum
Asante Kotoko head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed his delight at the signing of versatile left-back Kwasi Asante, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the team’s defensive options following the injury of Patrick Asiedu.
The Porcupine Warriors had been operating with only one recognized left-back since October 2024, and Coach Ogum believes Asante’s arrival will significantly bolster the squad.
“Everyone knows we’ve been playing with just one recognizable left-back in Patrick Asiedu since October last year, and it was essential to strengthen that area. Kwasi brings both quality and versatility to our squad. His ability to play multiple positions adds depth to the team, and his wealth of experience will undoubtedly benefit us in key moments,” Coach Ogum stated in an official interview featured on the club’s website.
The 29-year-old Kwasi Asante, who recently signed a one-and-a-half-year deal with Kotoko, is renowned for his adaptability. Beyond his primary position as a left-back, he can also operate as a center-back and left winger, making him a valuable addition to the squad.
