Ghana’s U-20 men’s national team, the Black Satellites, will commence camping on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Accra as they ramp up preparations for the upcoming U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), scheduled to take place in Egypt from April 26 to May 18, 2025.

The squad, under the guidance of head coach Desmond Ofei, returns from a brief break following their participation in a competitive three-nation invitational tournament in Rabat, Morocco.

The team will be based at the Erata Hotel in Accra, where players are expected to undergo a rigorous training schedule focused on tactical shape, fitness, and team cohesion. The training camp will also feature a series of high-intensity friendly matches designed to fine-tune strategies and assess the squad’s readiness for competitive action.

Ghana has been drawn in Group A alongside Cote d’Ivoire, Tanzania, DR Congo, and a UNIFFAC affiliate nation yet to be confirmed. It is viewed as a challenging group, but one the Satellites are determined to navigate successfully.

The upcoming tournament offers Ghana a chance to reassert its dominance in African youth football, and expectations among fans and officials are understandably high.
