Bechem United Hands Asante Kotoko Third Straight Loss in Hard-Fought Clash
The Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem was the center of attraction as Bechem United recorded a 1-0 victory over Kumasi Asante Kotoko in week 10 of the Ghana Premier League.
A lone goal from Kofi Tompuo was enough to give the Hunters their third win of the season and also a third blow in the face of the Porcupine Warriors.
Bechem United broke the deadlock in the 27th minute after Kofi Tompuo stunning and long shot beat Mohammed Camara. The shot was Bechem United’s first shot on target on the day.
Asante Kotoko controlled proceedings of the game for most part of the day and had more attempts at goal compared to Bechem United but failed to get an equaliser.
Kotoko have now lost three consecutive games in the league this season; questioning whether coach Prosper Ogum should continue to stay in the dugout.
Asante Kotoko have descended to the fifth position with 15 points while Bechem United remain at the ninth position with 14 points.
