Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has challenged his players to showcase their quality and deliver a performance that will inspire confidence ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup when Ghana faces Wales in an international friendly on Tuesday evening.

The match at Cardiff City Stadium will mark Queiroz’s first game in charge of the national team since his appointment in April, providing the Portuguese tactician with an early opportunity to assess his squad in a competitive environment.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Queiroz stressed that his players must approach the game with ambition, commitment and a desire to make Ghanaian supporters proud.

“We want to express ourselves in the game tomorrow. That is the best of our skills, efforts, and commitment. As I said, the message is simple. We want to play great football. We want to win. We want to bring pride and happiness to the fans.”

Ghana have been training in Wales since May 25 as part of the first phase of their preparations for the World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“That’s the only thing that should be in all players’ minds. And the message is a message of hope and confidence. Being with them for so many months, the training sessions that I did with them, we are fully committed to delivering to the nation.”

The friendly against Wales is expected to provide valuable preparation before Ghana departs for North America, where the Black Stars will compete in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
