Bashiru Hayford Sets Modest Target for Heart of Lions Amid Being On Top Of League
Heart of Lions head coach Bashiru Hayford has downplayed title aspirations for his side despite their impressive performances in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
Heart of Lions are currently on top of the league with 24 points after beating FC Samartex last weekend.
According to the experienced coach, the main target for the club this season is to improve on last year’s struggles and remain competitive.
Speaking candidly about the team’s objectives on Asempa FM, Hayford stated: “I’m not saying I will win the title with Heart of Lions. Last season, we struggled, and this season we don’t want to struggle like last season. That is my target.”
The comments come in the wake of Hearts of Lions’ remarkable form, which has seen them climb to the apex of the league table. The Kpando-based side will play their next game against Basake Holy Stars hoping to maintain their lead.
