The Ghana Cycling Federation has urged its members and the wider cycling community to exercise their civic responsibilities while prioritizing safety and peace as Ghana prepares to vote in the general elections on Saturday, December 7, 2024,

The Federation’s General Secretary, Shaban Mohammed, emphasized the importance of maintaining calm during the election period.

“I encourage everyone to cast their vote peacefully and stay calm. Peace is key,” Mohammed stated. ““Anyone who wins is our president, so we have discussed this to them on our platform.”

In a bid to foster safety and unity, the Federation has been reinforcing a culture of responsibility among its members. Mohammed noted that the cyclists are particularly motivated to stay safe, given their aspirations for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

““On our platform, since we targeted LA2028, it has made all the cycling fraternity on our platform take care of themselves, nobody wants to get hurt.” he added.

With this proactive stance, the Ghana Cycling Federation hopes to inspire other sports bodies to champion peace and unity during the election period.
