GFA Dismisses Speculations About Black Queens Coach Nora Hauptle’s Future
The Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Senior Communications Manager, Sheikh Tophic Sienu, has addressed rumors regarding the future of Black Queens head coach Nora Hauptle, asserting that she remains under contract with the association.
His comments comes at the back of recent media reports that the Swiss manager has left his role with the Black Queens and has joined the Zambian national women team.
Speaking in response to media reports suggesting that Hauptle may be poised to take over as head coach of the Zambian national women’s team, Sheikh Tophic clarified the situation:
“The GFA has a contract with Black Queens head coach Nora Hauptle. The contract has not come to an end completely. Whatever it is, they are media reports. I have not seen the Zambian FA announcing Nora as their head coach. We still have a contract and we are working,” he told Asempa FM.
The UEFA Pro License coach has been instrumental in the resurgence of the Black Queens, guiding the team to an impressive unbeaten run during the 2024 African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifiers. Her tactical acumen and leadership have been widely commended since her appointment.
