The Ghana Football Association has officially confirmed that the 2025/26 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League will begin on October 31, 2025, and conclude on April 27, 2026.

As in previous editions, the competition will feature 20 elite women’s teams, divided into Northern and Southern Zones, each comprising 10 clubs. The zonal structure continues to support regional development and nurture fierce rivalries across the country.

Police Ladies, who clinched the title in the previous season, will begin their title defense amid high expectations. However, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, one of the league’s most successful clubs, are poised to mount a strong challenge in a bid to reclaim their dominance in Ghanaian women’s football.

This season introduces four newly promoted sides:

  • Pearlpia Ladies (Northern Zone)

  • Ashtown Ladies (Northern Zone)

  • Oak Ladies (Southern Zone)

  • Samartex Ladies (Southern Zone)

Their arrival is expected to intensify competition as they seek to make an impact in the top tier.

The GFA says the early confirmation of the league’s dates will allow clubs and stakeholders to plan comprehensively, with the overall goal of raising the profile of women’s football across Ghana.
