Zito Predicts Tough Battle Ahead of Hearts vs Kotoko Super Clash
Interim head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, has admitted his side faces a tough assignment this weekend when they lock horns with archrivals Hearts of Oak in the highly anticipated Super Clash.
Speaking ahead of the Ghana Premier League Week 28 fixture, Coach Zito stressed that although Kotoko are preparing well, he expects nothing short of a fierce contest at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, May 4.
“They are not a bad side, but sometimes a little bit of luck eluded them when they played,” Zito noted in an interview with the club’s media team.
“I think it’s going to be a difficult game because Hearts and Kotoko are not like other clubs. On Sunday, it won’t be an easy game for both clubs.”
The former national youth team coach emphasized the unpredictable nature of matches involving the two most successful clubs in Ghana football history.
“I know the game will be difficult. For Hearts of Oak and Asante, you cannot predict until the 90th minute, and it’s over. We are going in with a winning mentality. For that one, I can’t hide it. The field will decide,” he said.
Asante Kotoko head into the clash at the top end of the league table, but are level on points with Bibiani Gold Stars, increasing the stakes for the Kumasi-based giants. Hearts of Oak, meanwhile, are fighting for consistency as they look to break into the top four.
Kickoff for Sunday’s encounter is set for 3:00 PM at the Accra Sports Stadium, where thousands of passionate fans are expected to witness the latest installment of Ghana’s biggest football rivalry.
