Wheelchair Tennis Association Marks World Disability Day with Junior Training Camp
The Wheelchair Tennis Association, in partnership with the National Paralympic Committee, commemorated World Disability Day with a Junior Training Camp held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, 3rd December 2024.
The event brought together young wheelchair tennis players from across the country, including representatives from the Volta Region, Cape Coast, Ashanti Region, Brong Ahafo, and Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
The training camp aimed to empower young athletes with disabilities by providing them with professional coaching and an opportunity to showcase their talents. It also served as a platform to promote inclusivity and raise awareness about the capabilities of persons with disabilities in sports.
World Disability Day, observed annually on December 3, celebrates the achievements of persons with disabilities and advocates for their inclusion in all aspects of society.
