Nkrataasem Sports Betting Community President Alex Kobina Stonne Donates GHC 1,000 to Support Blind Chess Clinic programme
In a heartwarming show of support for inclusive sports, President of the Nkrataasem Sports Betting Community, Alex Kobina Stonne, has donated GHC 1,000 to the Greater Accra Blind Sports Association (GABSA) in support of their upcoming Blind Chess Clinic.
The donation was made during a live interview featuring Nina Efedi Okoroafor, the President of GABSA and Ghana Chess Academy, alongside Kennedy Ayikwao.
The pair were speaking on their preparations for the much-anticipated three-day chess clinic scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium from Friday, 18th April to Monday, 21st April 2025, with a break on Sunday, 20th April.
The Blind Chess Clinic aims to introduce visually impaired participants to the fundamentals of chess, develop tactical thinking skills, and nurture a lasting passion for the game. It is the first of its kind organized by GABSA in collaboration with the Ghana Chess Academy, and it’s set to draw interest from across the region.

Touched by the initiative and the commitment shown by the organizers, Alex Kobina Stonne surprised the guests and listeners by pledging and immediately donating GHC 1,000 in support of the programme.
His gesture was met with gratitude from the GABSA representatives, who emphasized how crucial such support is for promoting accessibility and growth in sports for persons with disabilities.
“This is not just about chess. It’s about empowerment, inclusion, and believing in the potential of every Ghanaian, ”Nina Efedi Okoroafor said on Asempa FM.
The Blind Chess Clinic promises to be an eye-opener for many and a bold step forward in promoting adaptive sports in Ghana.
