Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has revealed that the club will only achieve great results if the players and coaches are focused and working hard.

The Phobians were eliminated in the Round of 16 after suffering a 4-3 penalty shootout defeat to lower-tier side Golden Kicks FC, following a goalless draw in regulation time last weekend.

Ouattara, who has been tasked with guiding the Phobians back to the top of Ghanaian football, believes that success will come through hard work and determination from both players and coaches.

“For the facilities at Hearts of Oak, we don’t have any problem. The problem is not the facilities, but it is up to us—the coaches and players—to stay focused and work hard,” he said on Asempa FM.

The Ivorian tactician emphasized the level of commitment required to thrive at a club like Hearts of Oak.

“If you are coaching at Hearts of Oak, you need to work more than 100 percent to achieve the results,” he added.

Ouattara also highlighted goal-scoring as an area the team is actively working to improve, acknowledging the importance of converting chances into victories.

“We are working on our scoring abilities. We need to score to win,” he stated.

With the FA Cup no longer in contention, Hearts of Oak will now turn their attention back to the Ghana Premier League, where they currently sit in 4th place with 33 points, just one point behind the league leaders.
