Black Queens midfielder Josephine Bonsu has expressed confidence in Ghana’s readiness as they prepare to face Algeria in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

With the stakes high and emotions intensifying ahead of the must-win encounter, Bonsu addressed the media during the pre-match press conference, rallying her teammates to embrace the pressure and channel it positively.

Ghana completed their final training session earlier today without any reported injury setbacks, a boost for coach Kim Björkegren and his squad as they eye a place in the semifinals.

Speaking with composure and optimism, Bonsu reflected the mood in camp:
The quarterfinals is only one game but we have to turn the pressure into motivation who doesn’t want to play the biggest tournament in Africa. And doesn’t want to play the quarterfinals the next stage is semifinal so we just enjoy every moment,” she said.

The game promises to be a tightly contested affair as the Black Queens aim to overcome a disciplined Algerian side and push further into the tournament.
