The West African Boxing Union (WABU) has officially expelled Remi Aboderin, General Secretary of the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control, citing  gross misconduct.

In a statement released  by the African Boxing Union (ABU), it confirmed the immediate suspension of all its activities involving Aboderin, stating clearly that he no longer holds any role within the organization.

The decision, according to WABU, stems from multiple allegations of unethical practices attributed to Aboderin during his tenure.

The African Boxing Union (ABU), which oversees boxing affairs across the continent, is expected to announce an interim General Secretary in the coming days. This appointee will be tasked with managing the ongoing activities of WABU and ensuring stability following the expulsion.

This development marks a significant shake-up in West African boxing administration and is likely to prompt broader discussions on governance and accountability within sports organizations across the region.
