Tanko Laments Missed Chance as Medeama Held by Aduana
Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed frustration after his side were forced to settle for a share of the spoils against Aduana FC in their Ghana Premier League clash over the weekend.
The Week 22 encounter at the TNA Sports Stadium was disrupted by heavy rainfall on Friday, leading to the game being completed on Saturday morning. Despite pushing for maximum points, the Yellow and Mauves could not find a breakthrough, allowing the visitors from Dormaa to walk away with a valuable draw.
Reacting after the match, Tanko rued his team’s missed opportunities, particularly a late penalty that could have secured victory, describing the result as a significant setback.
“We lost two points, very vital points. We tried our best. At the end of the match we had a penalty but unfortunately we couldn’t score. We have to take it like that and come back stronger,” Ibrahim Tanko said.
Even with the dropped points, Medeama remain in a strong position at the top of the Ghana Premier League table with 44 points, maintaining a seven-point cushion over second-placed Aduana FC.
