Ghanaian music icon Shatta Wale has thrown his support behind the Black Stars with a substantial $100,000 donation toward the national World Cup fundraising campaign.

His contribution was revealed during Friday night’s fundraising gala at the Kempinski Hotel, where several individuals and companies pledged to back Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Shatta Wale’s gesture adds momentum to the growing wave of support from the creative industry. It comes shortly after fellow artiste Stonebwoy pledged $101,000, comprising $81,000 in cash and $20,000 worth of music services, all earmarked to help transport Ghanaian fans to the global tournament.

President John Dramani Mahama, who spearheaded the launch of the fundraising initiative, also announced that the government will support local TV stations interested in acquiring broadcast rights for the World Cup, ensuring Ghanaians can follow the team’s journey.

Ghana will compete in Group L, facing England, Croatia, and Panama. The Black Stars open their campaign on June 17 in Toronto, hoping for strong backing from fans both at home and abroad.
