Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has called for unity within the Ghanaian football fraternity following Kurt Okraku’s recent appointment as Second Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Sannie Daara’s remarks come at a time when calls for cohesion within the football community are growing, especially as Ghana pushes to revamp its domestic leagues and prepare national teams for key international assignments.

Speaking on Sportsnite on Asempa FM, Sannie Daara acknowledged that Okraku’s rise may not sit well with everyone but emphasized that the focus should be on what his new position means for Ghanaian football.

“Kurt Okraku cannot please everyone in the football fraternity, but he should make an effort to do his best and bring unity among the football fraternity,” Sannie Daara said.

He further urged stakeholders to see Okraku’s appointment as a win for the country rather than a loss for individuals or groups within the game.

“His appointment should not be seen as a disadvantage to individuals, but rather as a victory for Ghana football,” he stressed.

Okraku, who also serves as President of the GFA, will now play a more prominent role at CAF, overseeing key decisions that could shape the future of African football.
