“Biggest Challenge of My Career” – Queiroz Embraces Black Stars Role
Newly appointed Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has described his Ghana assignment as the most demanding task of his managerial journey, pledging to draw on decades of experience to guide the team.
The veteran tactician made the remarks during his first official media interaction following his unveiling by the Ghana Football Association at the Alisa Hotel on Thursday.
Reflecting on his extensive career across multiple national teams, Queiroz did not shy away from the magnitude of the challenge ahead.
“After eight national teams and important competitions, this is the biggest challenge of my life and I am ready for that,” he stated.
The former Portugal and Real Madrid coach also reassured supporters of his total dedication to the role.
“I can promise you that I will bring all my 40 years of my experience to the job. I will give everything for Ghana,” he added.
Queiroz has been handed a short-term four-month contract, with a clear mandate to prepare the Black Stars for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana will compete in Group L, where they face Panama national football team, England national football team and Croatia national football team.
With limited time before the tournament, attention now turns to assembling a competitive squad capable of rising to the challenge on football’s biggest stage.
