Roger De Sa Hails Ghana’s Football Talent Ahead of 2026 World Cup
Assistant coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Roger De Sa, has praised the country’s exceptional football talent, insisting Ghana possesses one of the most naturally gifted player pools on the African continent despite infrastructural challenges.
De Sa, who recently joined the technical team led by Carlos Queiroz following the departure of Otto Addo earlier this year, shared his admiration while speaking on the Beyond The Whistle podcast.
The experienced coach said he has been impressed by the quality of players Ghana continues to produce even without the same level of facilities available in some other footballing nations.
“There is so much natural talent in Ghana despite limited resources. As an African football lover, the talent here is unbelievable. You guys don’t know what you have with limited facilities and infrastructure,” De Sa said.
The former South Africa national football team assistant coach also compared Ghana’s football environment with that of South Africa, suggesting that talent alone does not always guarantee success.
“We in South Africa have talent too, but a different kind with all the facilities. Yet we don’t go forward with our talent.”
De Sa is part of the new-look Black Stars technical bench tasked with guiding Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia .
