The former Ghana youth player has denied a deal to newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Bofoakwa Tano.

News in the local media, circulated that the defender is on the verge of completing a move to Bofoakwa Tano who got promoted to the country’s elite division having conquered the Division One League Zone One in the 2022-23 league season. Paul Abanga, a reliable center-back who can also play as a right back, last season traded with Kotoku Royals in the second round.

Making close to 14 League appearance, the former Inter Allies FC deputy captain gave a masterpiece of football last season. However, was not enough to inspire Kotoku Royals FC who had to enjoy only a season in the top-flight.

He is a free agent after his deal with Kotoku Royals FC ended.

It was reported that, Abanga Paul will soon switch to the Sunyani-based outfit but in an exclusive interview with Kolog Bonaventure, he disclosed that the reportage circulating has no truth.

“Oh that’s not true, I have not gotten in touch with Bofoakwa in anywhere. However, am open to negotiating with them if they believe my experience is needed for their Premier league campaign.

Abanga made his way to the Ghanaian top-flight in 2014, when he broke into Inter Allies FC first team. But, unfortunately saw his outfit relegated to Division Two in 2021-22 season due to match manipulation.

When asked, if he is still contracted to Kotoku Royals, he said; “Am a free agent now but yet to engage any team for the upcoming season”

“My season with Kotoku Royals wasn’t the best and am putting in hardwork to stay fit for any opportunity”.

Paul Abanga previously played for Berekum Arsenal and Akatsi All Stars FC after leaving Inter Allies FC.
