The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that head coach Otto Addo will unveil his Black Stars squad by the end of the week ahead of the team’s international friendlies against Japan and South Korea later this month.

The two matches, scheduled for November 14 and November 18, form part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum revealed the timeline and travel arrangements for the team’s upcoming Asia tour during an interview with JoySports.

“Tentatively, we are looking at the end of this week or the weekend to confirm who will be in the squad and the full complement of the team,” Asante Twum disclosed.
“The plan is for the advanced team to depart Accra on Friday for Japan, followed by the rest of the technical team.”

He further noted that the inclusion of home-based players is still under consideration.

“I don’t know yet if there will be local players. Depending on their number, they will hopefully travel on Sunday to Japan. We will then receive the players after their respective matches on Tuesday,” he added.

Coach Otto Addo is expected to use the high-profile friendlies to evaluate his squad, test tactical variations, and identify areas that require improvement before Ghana’s return to the World Cup stage.

The Black Stars, who qualified for their fifth World Cup appearance, will discover their group-stage opponents when the official draw takes place on December 5 in Washington, D.C.

These friendly encounters are anticipated to provide crucial insights for Addo and his technical team as they build a competitive and balanced squad capable of making an impact on football’s biggest stage.
