Otto Addo Braces for High-Intensity Austria Clash in Vienna Friendly
Otto Addo has outlined the scale of the challenge awaiting Black Stars as they prepare to face Austria in Friday’s international friendly.
The Ghana head coach anticipates a fast and physically demanding contest, with Austria’s aggressive style expected to test his team across all areas of the pitch.
“I think it will be a very interesting game. Surely we expect an intense game,” Addo said.
He pointed to Austria’s well-known tactical identity, shaped by a high-pressing philosophy, as a key factor that could influence the flow of the match.
“As all the Austrian matches are, and everybody knows the coach who likes to press high and a little bit of Red Bull school.”
Addo further stressed that his players must be prepared for relentless pressure and constant movement from the opposition.
“So this is what we expect and we know that they are very good, very physical, very high intensity, a lot of runs,” he added.
The fixture serves as a crucial test for Ghana, offering the technical team an opportunity to evaluate player performance and refine tactical approaches ahead of upcoming competitive assignments, including preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
