Ghanaian centre-back Maxwell Woledzi has capped off a remarkable campaign in Norway by being named Player of the Year at Fredrikstad FK, recognising his consistency and commanding displays throughout the season.

The 24-year-old has been a central figure in Fredrikstad’s defensive setup, making 37 appearances across all competitions and playing a key role in guiding the club to a strong sixth-place finish, with one league fixture still to be played.

His performances have not gone unnoticed beyond the club level. Woledzi has also earned a spot in the Eliteserien Team of the Year, further solidifying his reputation as one of the standout defenders in the league.

Woledzi, who joined Fredrikstad in 2023 and remains under contract until 2026, is now attracting interest from abroad. Reports suggest that MLS outfit Nashville SC, along with several European clubs, are monitoring his situation ahead of the next transfer window.

With his future generating attention, the former FC Nordsjaelland defender is keeping his focus on the pitch, preparing for Fredrikstad’s final league clash of the season against Bodo/Glimt on Sunday, November 30.
