A distinguished delegation from Manhyia Palace has visited the Asante Kotoko camp to lift spirits ahead of Sunday’s highly anticipated Super Clash against Hearts of Oak.

The Porcupine Warriors confirmed the morale-boosting visit on Thursday, revealing that the delegation was led by Manhyia Palace Chief of Staff Kofi Badu, Offinsomanhene Nana Dwamena Akenten II, and Bantamahene Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, among other traditional authorities.

The visit was aimed at encouraging the players and technical team as they prepare for one of Ghana football’s biggest fixtures. Kotoko have had a challenging week, suffering a 3-1 league defeat to Heart of Lions before crashing out of the FA Cup on penalties against Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The FA Cup exit was followed by the resignation of head coach Karim Zito, adding to the uncertainty around the club in the build-up to the showdown with their arch-rivals.

With the Super Clash set for a 17:00 GMT kick-off on Sunday, Kotoko will be looking to respond on the pitch and restore confidence in front of their supporters.
