Thomas Partey’s legal team has issued a firm response following the addition of two new rape charges against the Ghana international, reiterating the midfielder’s denial of all allegations.

Lead counsel Jenny Wiltshire stated: “Thomas Partey continues to deny all charges against him. He has cooperated with the police throughout. Given there are ongoing legal proceedings, there will be no further comment.”

The latest charges, authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service, stem from a separate Metropolitan Police investigation into alleged offences reported in August 2025 and said to have occurred in 2020. The development brings the total number of complainants in the ongoing case to four.

Partey is already facing trial on five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault relating to three women, with the alleged incidents said to have taken place between 2021 and 2022 during his time as a first-team player at Arsenal. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges and is scheduled to stand trial in November 2026.

The Villarreal midfielder is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13, 2026, in connection with the newly added charges. He remains on bail, with conditions allowing him to continue his football career but requiring advance notification to police before any international travel and prohibiting contact with the complainants.

Partey joined Villarreal as a free agent in August 2025 after his Arsenal contract expired and is currently on a one-year deal that runs until June 30, 2026, with an option for an extension.
