Lyon manager Laurent Blanc provides latest update on Ernest Nuamah

Olympique Lyon manager Laurent Blanc has disclosed that Ghanaian youngster Ernest Nuamah will be announced as their new signing this week, confirming the attacker ‘is already in Lyon’.

Laurent Blanc confirmed the imminent signing of the forward ahead of his big-money move from Danish top-flight club FC Nordsjaelland.

Nuamah is set to make a big-money move to the French Ligue I club with deal worth €30 million. He’s completed his medical examination and all formalities after landing in Lyon last week.

But his announcement is delayed and manager Laurent Blanc said, the youngster is already in Lyon when asked about the Nuamah after their league game against OGC Nice on Sunday evening.

“He’s already in Lyon. I think [this] week he’ll officially be a Lyon player,”

“He is a player that will bring what he’s capable of bringing. He is a player with a lot of power. He is a young player, a very young player, but he also brings us a bit of competition. Bringing competition to every position is a good thing for everyone. The more competition, the better things will be.”

Nuamah is expected to join Lyon in an initial loan deal with the obligation to permanently sign him at the end of the season.

The 19-year-old is expected to sign a contract which runs till 2028.
