Asante Kotoko SC have been sanctioned by the Ghana Football Association after being found culpable of misconduct during their Ghana Premier League encounter with Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in November 2025.

In a ruling delivered by the GFA Disciplinary Committee, the Porcupine Warriors were charged with failing to guarantee the safety of match officials throughout the fixture, which ended in a dramatic draw following two late goals from the Kumasi-based side.

The Committee’s findings revealed that Kotoko supporters threatened and attacked match officials, while the club also breached regulations by allowing unauthorised individuals into restricted zones of the stadium, including the tunnel area.

As punishment, Kotoko have been handed a GHS 10,000 fine and issued a formal warning. The club has been instructed to settle the penalty within 14 days of receiving official notification from the Association.

The decision serves as a reminder of the GFA’s stance on crowd control and matchday security, with clubs expected to take full responsibility for the conduct of their supporters and the safety of all match officials.
