The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially released the complete fixture schedule for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, setting the stage for what promises to be another captivating year of domestic football action.

Defending champions Gold Stars FC will launch their title defence with a home game against Bechem United at the Duns Park in Bibiani. The season opener is one of several high-profile encounters on Match Day 1, with multiple clubs looking to set the tone early in the campaign.

  • Asante Kotoko vs Berekum Chelsea (Golden City Park)

  • Young Apostles vs Medeama SC

Hearts of Oak, eager to rebound from an underwhelming 2024/25 season, will welcome Premier League newcomers Hohoe United, while their eternal rivals Asante Kotoko face a tricky away tie against Berekum Chelsea. Newly promoted sides Swedru All Blacks and Eleven Wonders also start their campaigns on the road.

The league’s first Super Clash between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko is scheduled for Match Day 5 at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the return fixture in Kumasi on Match Day 22 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The league will commence on the weekend of September 12, 2025, and conclude on May 23/24, 2026, strategically aligned with the FIFA international calendar and in preparation for the 23rd FIFA World Cup, which kicks off on June 11, 2026.

According to the GFA, the schedule is designed to allow for smooth progression of all competitions and will enable clubs to plan for travel, training, and squad rotation with minimal disruption.

Premier League fixtures will be played predominantly on weekends, with midweek slots reserved for rescheduled or outstanding matches, continuing the structure of the previous season.
