Kotoko and Hearts Have the Power to Lead Change in GFA Leadership- Alhaji Grusah
Alhaji Karim Grusah, owner of King Faisal Football Club, has asserted that Ghana’s two most prominent football clubs, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, hold significant influence within the football community.
His comments come amid ongoing debates about the leadership of the GFA and calls for increased accountability and transparency within the association
According to him, these clubs could easily lead a campaign to unseat Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku if they so desired, but their lack of action has left the status quo intact.
“Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have power. If Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak lead a crusade to take Kurt Okraku out of position, they can easily do it,” Alhaji Grusah stated.
He further suggested that some top executives from these iconic clubs might be in support of the current GFA administration, which could explain their reluctance to push for change. “Some of the top executives of both clubs support Kurt,” he added.
Grusah’s remarks highlight the influential role that Kotoko and Hearts of Oak play in Ghanaian football, not just on the pitch but also in the administrative and governance aspects of the game.
