Jordan Amissah Joins Dundee United on Long-Term Deal
Scottish Premiership side Dundee United have completed the signing of Ghanaian goalkeeper Jordan Amissah, adding the highly-rated shot-stopper to their squad ahead of the new season.
The 24-year-old has penned a two-year contract at Tannadice, with the agreement set to keep him at the club until the summer of 2028, subject to Scottish Football Association approval and international clearance.
Amissah’s arrival comes as Dundee United continue to reshape their squad during the transfer window, with the goalkeeper expected to challenge Jack Walton and Ruairidh Adams for the number one position.
At 6ft 6in, the Ghanaian brings both commanding physical presence and valuable experience as the club prepares for the upcoming campaign.
Born in Germany to Ghanaian parents, Amissah honed his skills in the youth academies of Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund, where he was part of the squad that lifted the Under-17 Bundesliga title.
His development continued in England after joining Sheffield United at the age of 18. He signed his first professional contract with the Blades in 2021 before gaining senior experience through loan spells with Guiseley and Spennymoor Town.
Amissah eventually made his senior debut for Sheffield United in a fixture against Luton Town in 2022, marking another important milestone in his career.
His impressive performances also earned him recognition on the international stage, receiving a call-up to Ghana’s Under-23 national team for the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.
The goalkeeper later enjoyed a productive spell in Scottish football during a loan stint with Ross County, where his consistent displays enhanced his reputation and paved the way for another move north of the border.
Now at Dundee United, Amissah will be looking to establish himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper and continue his development in the Scottish Premiership while keeping his ambitions alive of earning a senior call-up to the Black Stars.
