Hasaacas Ladies have been crowned champions of the 2025/26 Women’s FA Cup after defeating Army Ladies in a tense penalty shootout on Sunday afternoon.

The Takoradi-based side secured a 5-3 victory on penalties after an entertaining final ended 1-1 following extra time.

Hasaacas entered the final determined to finish the campaign with silverware after narrowly missing out on the Women’s Premier League title to Ampem Darkoa Ladies earlier in the season.

Army Ladies were equally motivated, hoping to close out their campaign with a trophy after falling short of reaching the league final.

Both teams created promising opportunities during the opening half, but neither side managed to find the breakthrough before halftime.

The game eventually came alive late in the second half when substitute Linda Epo fired Hasaacas into the lead in the 87th minute.

Army Ladies responded almost immediately, with Esther Asamoah Yiadom scoring her seventh goal of the competition just two minutes later to force the contest into extra time.

Despite the intensity of the additional 30 minutes, neither side could produce a winner, sending the final to penalties.

Hasaacas showed composure from the spot, converting all five of their penalties, while Army Ladies scored three and missed one of their four attempts.

The triumph marks Hasaacas Ladies’ second Women’s FA Cup title, having previously won the competition during the historic 2020/21 season.
