The tall and well-built Ghanaian goalkeeper, Lawrence Ati-Zigi was in posy for St. Gallen on Sunday as they took on Luzern in the 2023-2024 Switzerland Super League round of 3 fixture.

At the kybunpark, Lawrence Ati-Zigi inspired St. Gallen to a fantastic 2-1 victory with some point blank saves in the course of the game.

Despite, conceding in the 50th minute the Black Stars showed brilliant piece of goalkeeping to deny the visitors another goal, having to stop a dangerous ball in the 72nd minute from Luzern’s striker.

Witzig and Albert Vallci both combined to score for St. Gallen as they annexed all points. Witzig levelled for the host in the 68th minute mark before Vallci got the eventual winner right on the 74th minute mark.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi who is a key member of Ghana national team was voted best goalkeeper in the Swiss Super League last season and hope to replicate same form for St. Gallen this season.

St. Gallen, following their triumph sit 4th on the log with 6 points after match day three and only fall short with a point behind FC Zürich and Young Boys.

Lugano though sit 3rd but with same points as accumulated by St. Gallen.
