“Ghana Is No Longer a Great Sporting Nation”- Herbert Mensah
Veteran sports administrator Herbert Mensah has called for a critical evaluation of Ghana’s declining performance in international sports, describing the country’s current state as far from its once-proud status as a great sporting nation.
Speaking during an interview, Mensah highlighted the need for introspection and accountability across Ghana’s sporting landscape.
“We have to look inwardly at ourselves. A great sporting nation like Ghana is no longer a great sporting nation,” he told Joy FM.
Mensah expressed concerns about the significant investments made in sports, particularly football, and questioned the outcomes relative to the resources expended.
“You go to the Olympics, we wasted taxpayers’ money. You go to the Commonwealth Games, we’ve wasted taxpayers’ money,” he stated.
