Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has made it clear that his team will approach the much-anticipated Super Clash against Accra Hearts of Oak with a winning mindset — even though he shares a strong personal friendship with Hearts’ head coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.

The two giants of Ghanaian football will lock horns at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 9, at 16:00 GMT, in what promises to be one of the biggest fixtures of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

Both clubs are unbeaten so far, heightening the stakes for what could prove a defining early-season encounter.

Speaking to Kotoko Media, Coach Zito acknowledged his long-standing relationship with Didi Dramani, recalling their successful partnership during their previous spells at Asante Kotoko.

However, the Porcupine Warriors’ boss insisted that friendship would have no place on the touchline when the whistle blows.

“We are brothers, we talk a lot but… we are going there with the mindset of beating him,”
Abdul Karim Zito told Kotoko Media.

Zito’s remarks underline the competitive edge expected in Sunday’s clash, as both managers look to assert their tactical superiority while maintaining respect off the pitch.

As things stand, Kotoko occupy eighth place in the league table with three wins and two draws from five matches, while Hearts of Oak sit fourth, having collected four wins and four draws from eight games.
