Ghana Clinches Three Bronze Medals in Taekwondo on Day 2 of ANOCA Zone 3 Games
Team Ghana continued to make their presence felt at the ANOCA Zone 3 Games in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, after securing three bronze medals in Taekwondo on Day 2 of the competition.
The nation’s medals came through Kelvin Amuzu in the -58kg category, Razak Mohammed in the +80kg division, and Prince Marvin Klutse in the -60kg category, marking a commendable effort from the Ghanaian fighters in a fiercely contested event.
Reflecting on his performance, Prince Marvin Klutse expressed mixed feelings about the outcome but maintained a positive outlook for the future.
“We are grateful to the Ghana Olympic Committee and Ghana Taekwondo Federation for the opportunity they’ve given us. We came here to win gold, but unfortunately, we all got bronze, which is disappointing. However, we promise to train harder and make Ghana proud in our next competitions,” Klutse said.
Head coach Emmanuel Addo also shared his thoughts, acknowledging the team’s effort while calling for greater support to help the athletes improve.
“This is not the result we anticipated, but we’ll take the bronze medals since we are not going home empty-handed. We urge the authorities to support us with more competitions so our athletes can gain experience and exposure,” he stated.
