Ghana Premier League Salaries Need Urgent Attention- Daniel Agyei
Former Black Satellites goalkeeper Daniel Agyei has voiced strong concerns about the state of the Ghana Premier League, describing it as “sinking” and no longer attractive.
His remarks, highlight the pressing issue of player salaries and their impact on the league’s competitiveness.
In an interview with GHOne TV, Agyei lamented the low salaries of players in the league, noting that inadequate remuneration has made it difficult for the league to attract and retain talent.
“Ghana Premier League is sinking and is not attractive. The current salaries of players in the league are not good.” The former Liberty Professionals player said.
The former goalkeeper, who played a pivotal role in Ghana’s historic U-20 World Cup triumph in 2009, remains optimistic that with the right leadership and investment, the Ghana Premier League can reclaim its glory.
Agyei’s candid critique serves as a wake-up call for the Ghana Football Association and other stakeholders to take decisive action to address the league’s challenges.
