The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to stage the first batch of the CAF Licence A Coaching Course later this month, reinforcing its commitment to elite coach education on the continent.

The 10-day programme will run from February 17 to 26, 2026, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, with technical backing from the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The course is expected to bring together top-level coaches from different countries, all aiming to earn one of CAF’s most prestigious coaching qualifications.

Among the notable names confirmed for the opening batch are former Ghana internationals Laryea Kingston and John Paintsil, whose participation adds further profile to the programme.

The CAF Licence A is regarded as a critical step for coaches seeking opportunities at elite club level or within national team setups. Participants will undergo an intensive schedule combining classroom instruction and on-field practical sessions, tailored to the demands of high-performance football.

Areas of study will include advanced tactical systems, modern training methodologies, player and team development, performance analysis, leadership, and match planning. The curriculum is designed to meet international standards while remaining relevant to the unique context of African football.

By hosting the course in Prampram, the GFA continues to position Ghana as a hub for coaching development, providing an environment where experience, innovation, and high-level instruction come together to shape the next generation of top coaches.
