Ghana’s U17 national team delivered a confident performance in Accra, defeating True Life FC 4-2 in a preparatory friendly as they intensify build-up toward the upcoming U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Black Starlets approached the contest with purpose from the outset, dictating tempo and showing attacking sharpness that unsettled their opponents early on. Their dominance was rewarded when captain Joseph Narbi broke the deadlock, setting the tone for a commanding first-half display.

Momentum quickly swung in Ghana’s favour as Mark Aboagye added a second with a clinical finish, before Gavi Robinho extended the advantage further. By halftime, the national side had established a comfortable 3-0 cushion, underlining their control and cohesion.

The intensity remained after the break, with Aboagye returning to the scoresheet to complete his brace and stretch the lead to four. Ghana’s fluid movement, effective ball retention, and coordinated attacking play reflected steady progress under the technical team’s guidance.

True Life FC managed to respond late in the game, pulling two goals back, but the comeback proved insufficient to alter the outcome as the Black Starlets held firm to secure victory.

The fixture forms part of a broader evaluation process, with the coaching staff continuing to assess player combinations and refine tactical structure ahead of the continental tournament.

After the game, son of President John Mahama, Sharaf Mahama paid a visit to the team and encouraged them to give their best during the AFCON.

Ghana will compete in a challenging Group D at the U17 AFCON, where they are set to face Algeria, Senegal, and South Africa. With performances of this nature, the Black Starlets appear to be building the momentum and confidence required for a strong showing on the continental stage.
